Zulfiqar Khosa in Karachi to constitute forward block of PML-N

Khosa will meet Syed Ghaus Ali Shah in an attempt to reach out to PML-N’s disgruntled politicians

KARACHI:
Former Punjab governor and senior Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader Sardar Zulfiqar Khosa arrived Karachi on Saturday with a view to create a forward block of the party.

Khosa is due to meet with PML-N leader Syed Ghaus Ali Shah on Sunday, the latter’s spokesperson confirmed.

The spokesperson told The Express Tribune that the two would attempt to reach out to those PML-N members who had become disillusioned with the party’s central leadership and include them in a new party under the banner of Jinnah’s Muslim League.

Khosa, who had been served a show-cause notice during a press conference in Punjab last month, has denied reports of leading a forward block within the party.

On November 25, senior PML-N members, including Shah, Jatoi, Dr Arbab Ghullam Rahim, and former Sindh Assembly speaker Illahi Bukhsh Soomro along with some other noted figures had announced plans to make an alliance.

Earlier, sources had claimed that former office bearer of PML-N and senior politician Liaqat Ali Jatoi had invited Khosa to expand their alliance to the national level. However, party sources denied it.

During a press conference, Shah said that the party leaders were disappointed with PML-N leadership since they did not give Sindh due respect.
