School principal commits suicide

RAWALPINDI:

A private school’s principal committed suicide under unexplained circumstances in Mughalabad area of Rawalpindi, said a media report on Wednesday.

Syed Ali Zaidi, 32, shot himself with a pistol at his office around 11am on Tuesday said the police officer investigating the case.

Teachers heard a gunshot, rushed toward the principal’s office where they found the teacher dead.

A female teacher in her statement said that when she reached the office, the principal had already died of his wounds and a pistol was lying on the ground.

After the incident, a police party shifted the body to the District Headquarters Hospital for post-mortem and other legal formalities later handed it over to the family.
