Punjab Home Minister Col (retd) Shuja Khanzada has said the provincial government has no intention to create hurdles ahead of the Pakistan Tehreek Insaf’s (PTI’s) November 30 rally.
He was speaking after a Wednesday visit to Police College, Sihala.
Khanzada said the PML-N government believed in democracy and political freedom as the provincial government was already facilitating the PTI in holding rallies, according to an official handout.
Khanzada said there was no proof that Daish (Islamic State) had any presence in Punjab and suggested that local militants might be using the group’s name.
He said at a meeting between CM Shahbaz Sharif and the federal interior minister, it was decided that no hurdles would be created for the PTI rally as long as participants abided by the law.
Khanzada said a decision had been reached to not block any roads by placing containers in any district of Punjab.
