KARACHI: A country-wide movement calling for the cancellation of the controversial Sindh Nursing Council Bill 2014 will be launched, announced the Sindh Nurses Action Joint Forum (SNAJF) on Tuesday during a press conference at Karachi Press Club. Speakers said that the establishment of Sindh Nursing Council at provincial level was a pre-planned conspiracy to destroy the nursing education and training in the province. They announced that a joint platform of nurses from Karachi to Kashmore had been formed under the SNAJF to foil the conspiracy. Provincial Nurses Association Karachi division ex-president James Watt said that the Nursing Council Bill 2014 was approved in the Sindh Assembly in haste and no stakeholders were taken on board before tabling the bill. He said that the approval of the bill regarding the establishment of Sindh Nursing Council is tantamount to destroying the nursing education. Pakistan Nurses Federation central executive committee member Qayyum Marwat said that SNAJF was working with various nursing associations to chalk out the future strategy.
