Lauding The Army: Nation solidly behind army: Khanzada

LAHORE:
Terrorism has caused irreparable loss to the country and weakened its foundations, Home Minister Col (retd) Shuja Khanzada said. “More than 40,000 soldiers, policemen and citizens had lost their lives in the War on Terror. Khanzada was addressing participants of the National Security Workshop of National Defence University at 90, The Mall, on Monday. He said the brave armed forces were fighting for the country’s survival. “The whole nation supports its army.” He said the people were proud of the army’s success in operation Zarb-i-Azb. He said the nation will have to make collective efforts to eliminate poverty, unemployment and terrorism from the country. Several lawmakers, secretaries of various departments and heads of development institutions were present on the occasion. The minister said rooting out terrorism was essential to promoting the economy. He said the army was fighting to make the country a haven of peace. “The day isn’t far when we would finally have peace in Pakistan,” he said.
