LAHORE: The people of Pakistan are disgusted with the negative attitudes of the politicians trying to create anarchy in the country, Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif said on Monday.

He was talking to former senator Nawabzada Mir Haji Lashkari Raisani. He said sit-ins and protests had caused significant losses to the economy. “Elements engaged in these activities have proved that they are enemies of the country... they do not want peace and prosperity in Pakistan.”

He said national interest should never be held hostage to personal ambition.

The chief minister said politicians involved in street protest should review their attitude, “they have committed a grave injustice to people.”

He said considering the economic situation in the country, there was no room for sit-ins that could cause chaos.

Raisani told The Express Tribune that he had also discussed the situation in Balochistan. Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf’s rally planned for November 30 was also discussed, he said. Raisani did not divulge details of the meeting. He said that there were several things politicians discussed that they could not immediately share with the public.
