US Secretary of State John Kerry is expected to visit Pakistan early next year
Advisor to Prime Minister on Foreign Affairs Sartaj Aziz said on Monday that Pakistan-Afghanistan relations have entered a new phase, Radio Pakistan reported.
The advisor reiterated Pakistan’s desire for good political, economic and security relations with Afghanistan.
Terming the recent visit of Afghan President Ashraf Ghani to Pakistan as successful and useful beyond expectations, Aziz said that both countries had agreed to develop a mechanism to address the issue of security on the border.
The adviser added that with increased cooperation, bilateral relations between the two neighbouring countries have entered a new phase.
Commenting on Pakistan-US relations, the advisor said the Pakistan-US strategic and economic relations are advancing towards betterment.
Further, he claimed that US Secretary of State John Kerry is expected to visit Pakistan early next year.
Responding to a question, Aziz said that tension on eastern border had affected the ongoing operation against terrorists in North Waziristan.
