India should use resources to fight against poverty, not against Pakistan: JI
“If Mr Modi wants to wage a war with Pakistan, he should know that Pakistan could repeat the history of Badr and Hunain, with India suffering huge losses," he said.
Talking to hundreds of members of minority communities, Haq announced that the JI has decided to resume efforts of building a nation which has no secular differences and one that can live up to the dreams of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah.
The JI chief also reiterated he would bring Dr Afia Siddiqi back from United States, when his party will come to power.
“We will bring back Afia Siddiqi to Pakistan under the same law that let Raymond Davis to go back to his country," the chief said.
Haq said the rulers of Pakistan would have to decide whether they are the slaves of Obama or Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) and that they will have to choose between Washington and Madina.
The JI chief went on to say that the US should stop interfering in the affairs of the country.
Referring to the incumbent government, he stressed that the hypocrisy of the rulers would not be tolerated and if the rulers loved American culture, they should leave the country and spare the nation.

You may not agree with his ideology.. but he is emerging as a people's leader. I don't follow his ideology but I've heard his opponents praising him for his hard work & honesty as a finance minister in KPK govt. He may looks like a mullah to u ppl but he has a Masters degree in political science. He lives among the people. His own house is a two rooms brick house with no plaster. He is son of a poor labour. He had opened schools in his constituency for both girls & boys. I've heard that he had been seen using public transports several times. I read in a newspaper column that one time on a 3 days official visit to Islamabad as a financial minister of KPK, he spent only 800 rupees (travel & stay included). I have researched on him & now I am starting to like him.. Just listen to him, u may not agree with his ideology and I bet u will like him too. Bcoz he is a true man.
@Arjun : per capita income in itself is not indication of country's potential.There are many other indicators (like gdp, growth rate of diff sectors, literacy, research, job generation, entrepreneurship, no of graduates, standard of education, technical as well s soft skills, presence of nationals in imp tech/sc fields/organizations). When these indicators are looked in conjugation , thast might give you an idea of country's outlook for future. To be honest (and i am not gloating), India dies have its problem but has good resource pool and smart people with some conducive atmosphere.We do have problems galore, but with some effort can really make a good progress.
While Pakistan , there not so much hope if there is no internal churning. haven't heard any strong voice coming and asking for it. They are still gung ho about Afia siddiqui and Taseer's killer. @pk: Dear pk, At least 50% of Indians are living at or below the poverty line, and only 20% of Indians are living well. Pakistan is in a similar situation and the sooner you people grow up the better.
India's per-capita income is not "way" higher than Pakistan's. In PPP terms, it's just $5100 vs $4300 per year. And India just crossed Pakistan in 2009, not too long ago. Pakistan has 1/10 the population of India's and can easily race ahead once it fixes its problems. Indians should not be gloating - it'll be to our own detriment.
@cautious: Dear cautious, As usual, you are off balance. Dr Afia Siddiqui, a national heroine, who has done nothing wrong is languishing in a US prison for 86 years. Mr Raymond Davis who shot two men in the back in Lahore, and his buddies who killed a few others in their frantic rush to the crime scene are currently enjoying their freedom in America. Go figure? However, moving on, JI Chief Siraul Haq made a very wise remark in regard to India looking after its poor, and of course this should apply to most countries around the world. Obviously, from previous and current experience, his advice will be ignored as will my comments. It is very apparent that most ET readers do not appreciate wise advise. The bottom line is JI chief is perpetuating the myth that India is forcing war on Pakistan.
India is not doing anything of the sort. It is a status quo power w.r.t. Pakistan. There are no objectives that it wants to achieve by starting a war with Pakistan.
The purpose of such statements by some Pakistani leaders is to uphold the ideological position that India is enemy country. In reality, the lives of ordinary Pakistanis would be better off if Pakistan gave up enmity with India and pursued economic integration. Some people in Pakistan wants to prevent this because there own power is based on an ideological foundation built on enmity with India. In the end, they are only screwing their own countrymen, but ideological purity is more important to them.
It would be really good if these people focus on building good schools and infrastructure with the Billions of USD they get, rather than buy AK47s and build terrorist schools in POK. If terrorism stops, the whole region can prosper like Europe did collectively. As long as Pakistan gives too much importance to these Mullahs and Saudi Arabia backed terrorist organizations, there can be no peace. India is the last country that wants to wage a war. India has always proposed friendship, but it is Pakistan that has always back-stabbed us. We sent Bus to Lahore, and they sent their Army into Kashmir.
@Mirza: India 2.5% of GDP and Pakistan 2.7% of GDP, translates into $47,735,000,000 (India) and $6,987,000,000 (Pakistan). Total India is 3rd in the world in 2013 with GDP $6,776 (Billion) and Pakistan is 26th in the world with $835.1 (Billion).

Hahaha... India has come a long way in the last 20 years and these politicians don't realize that India's per capita income is way higher than Pakistan's. Perhaps, this gentleman does not read the papers. Thousands die each year in Pakistan in Tharparkar of hunger and thirst. Does Pakistan's nukes make sense in light of this?
@Mirza: You have asked a good question. What part of budget is more relevant than what % of GDP because India collects 75% more taxes on a tax to GDP basis.
Fyi- In India the total education budget (sum of centre and states) is 60% higher than defense budget.
Since Modi has come to power, Pakistani leaders have become restless and are hallucinating about and attack from India.
What % of their budget India is using (wasting) on defense and what % is Pakistan using? The country using higher % of its budget on non productive activities should be ashamed. That money must be used for basic education, healthcare and other civic needs. I am sure JI supporters would not answer my questions.
