Model Town killings: Govt will reveal pre-prepared JIT report next month, says Qadri

PAT chief says his party will not join JIT unless Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif resigns

LAHORE:
Rejecting a five-member joint investigation team (JIT) constituted to probe the death of Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) workers in Model Town, PAT chief Dr Tahirul Qadri alleged the report that has already been prepared by the government and will be publicised later this month, Express News reported on Saturday.

Qadri, demanded formation of a new JIT to investigate the matter in a fair and transparent manner, while stressing that his party would not join the investigation team unless Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif resigns.

Commenting on a statement made by Prime Minister’s Adviser on National Security and Foreign Affairs Sartaj Aziz, Qadri said that the government is trying to foil Operation Zarb-e-Azb and supporting terrorists.

With regards to PM Nawaz turning down the proposal to increase gas tariff, Qadri said the power tarrif has already been increased by 30 percent with the approval of the premier, and that he is just misguiding the media.

Speaking about the killing of PAT leader, Umrani Baloch, and his family in Balochistan, he said the assailants used a government car for the attack but they have not been arrested despite a multitude of First Information Reports (FIRs) being registered against them.

In the end of the media briefing, he said that he will continue protesting against the government until he brings revolution in the country.
