Pakistan on Friday lodged a strong protest with India over the latest ceasefire violations by its forces across the Line of Control (LoC) that left a Pakistani soldier dead.

According to the Foreign Office spokesperson, the protest was lodged through ‘diplomatic channels’.
The latest incident of ceasefire violation took place in Pandu Sector near Muzaffarabad across the LoC in the disputed Himalayan state of Kashmir.
The Indian ‘unprovoked’ firing killed Sepoy Zahid Ali. “The government of Pakistan offers its condolences to the bereaved family of the Shaheed,” the statement said.
Condemning the incident, the spokesperson also called on India to restrain its security forces from “unprovoked firing and shelling across the LoC and the Working Boundary.”
Pakistan and Indian forces continued to exchange fire along the LoC and the working boundary since October.
