Militant assault: House targeted in Jamrud

JAMRUD:
A bomb went off at a house in Jamrud tehsil of Khyber Agency on Thursday night, destroying the boundary wall and main gate. No human loss was reported. According to a political administration official, the bomb had been planted near the structure’s main gate by unidentified militants. It was activated through a remote device. The official added that the house belonged to Ziarat Gul, a local tribesman and resident of Mado Khel area of Ghundai. Gul informed the official that he and his cousins had spotted the militants and opened fire at them. However, they managed to escape. A case has been filed and further investigation is under way.
