Fashion Round-up: The hunger games: Mockingay-Part 1 Premiere

Check out what the female leads rocked at the event.

The film’s cast was surely sizzling Monday night as they came out to celebrate the premiere of the eagerly-awaited upcoming sequel. Held at the Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles, the starry crew brought up some serious style game. Check out what the female leads rocked at the event.

Jennifer Lawrence: The Oscar winner donned Dior, again. Despite the star’s predictability, she still stunned. Wearing a white dress with silver metallic pattern from the Fall 2014 couture collection, the number was a mid-calf length delight. The pockets, tight bodice, full skirt, architectural seams with intricate sheer detailing were all conventional but pretty. Silver Aquazurra shoes, an Anito Ko ring with wings, and Eposi ear cuffs completed the graceful look. Her hair was pulled back in an up-do with stray hairs that didn’t really fit falling in front of her face but her make-up was fresh and flirty with pink lipstick and matching flushed cheeks.

Julianne Moore: The timeless star ditched her drab Hunger Games costume for a glittery black sequined gown by Tom Ford.  The sequin number with a long fringe hem and deep V-neck, worked well with her fiery red hair. Though a safe choice, it still accentuated the 53-year-old’s natural beauty. Moore parted her loose curls down the middle and vamped up her makeup with a smokey eyeshadow and black liner. The mother-of-two made the dress a statement piece by keeping her accessories minimal, opting for metallic stud earrings by Boucheron jewellery and a ring on each hand.

Elizabeth Banks: The stylish diva seemed to have drawn fashion inspiration from her eccentric character Effie Trinket. Picking a fashion-forward ensemble, the 40-year-old beauty wore a structural metallic floral dress from Leonard’s Fall/Winter 2014 collection with an asymmetrical hem. Yet another fashion hit to add to Banks’s impressive portfolio. The ankle straps on the Roger Vivier heels were slightly overbearing and made her look shorter than she is, but the choice to shun accessories let the loud, futuristic dress speak for itself. The puffed-up hairdo was slightly exaggerated but it paired well with the structured dress, and flaming red pout.

Jena Malone: The 29-year-old starlet’s style has been tearing it down lately. Malone, who plays Johanna Mason in the movie, matched her newly dyed red hair with a silk long-sleeved red dress with a beautifully daring slit from Emanuel Ungaro’s Spring 2015 collection. The eye-catching scarlet gown which showcased her slender legs, definitely helped her pull off the red hot siren look she was going for. The redhead beauty pinned her curls to one side and topped off the glamorous look with a bold lip. She accessorised with a gold clutch plus simple diamond earrings and added height to the look with gold sling back heels.

Natalie Dormer: For her role in the film, the 32-year-old talent shaved half her head. But with her hair all grown back — and dyed a little blonder — Dormer certainly did not disappoint. Schmoozing her way across the event, the actor wowed us in her yellow and gold patterned Rochas resort 2015 gown. With pin curls and bright, feminine makeup, the English star ensured she was not overshadowed on the night. Decorated with bold lemon coloured embellishments, the loose-fitting gown accentuated Natalie’s flaxen, ruffled locks and milky skin-tone. The lack of accessories added edginess to the gorgeous outfit.
