LAHORE: The City division Anti-Vehicle Lifting Squad (AVLS) arrested two bike thieves on Wednesday, police said. Imdad Alias Imdadi and his accomplice Ajmal were arrested during a raid on their hideout. AVLS SP Zahid Nawaz Marwat had formed a team to arrest the suspects. Police said the two used to steal bikes from shopping centres, housing societies and plazas. Eleven motorbikes, master keys and handguns were seized during the raid. The suspects revealed that they used to follow motorcyclists and steal their bikes using a master key soon after they parked it. The stolen bikes were then sold in rural areas. They confessed to stealing bikes from Civil Lines, Mughalpura, Garhi Shahu, Gowalmandi, Hanjarwal, Old Anarkali, Rang Mahal, Lower Mall, Millat Park, Liaqatabad, Naseerabad and Nawab Town areas. Cash prizes and appreciation certificates have been announced for the team.
