An anti-terrorism court (ATC) remanded on Wednesday a suspect to police custody for 14 days over his alleged involvement in an attack on a Rangers mobile in Liaquatabad.
The ATC-II sent Tanvir alias Chand, a worker of the Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM), to physical remand till December 3. Tanvir was brought to the court on stretcher in an ambulance amid tight security. The Rangers' counsel said that Tanvir and another absconder had fired at the Rangers mobile. He was injured and arrested after a gunfight with the Rangers, while his accomplice managed to flee. On the other hand, the defendant's lawyer said that the suspect had been falsely implicated in the case.
