Karo-kari dispute: Two killed, one injured in tribal clash

Two men were killed and one injured in Achhi Masjid village, reported  Shikarpur's Faujdari police on Wednesday.



Two groups of the Sundrani tribe had been at daggers drawn over a karo-kari dispute for the last two years. On Wednesday, 70-year-old Sewo Sundrani, a resident of Tando Masti in Khairpur, went to Achhi Masjid with his friends to resolve the dispute with Ismail Sundrani. After an exchange of hot words, Ismail pulled out his pistol and opened fire, killing Sewo on the spot and injuring Sadaruddin Sundrani. Sewo's companions killed Ismail in retaliation and fled. The police moved the bodies and the injured to Civil Hospital, Shikarpur. Sadaruddin was later referred to a hospital in Larkana in critical condition. The police have yet to register an FIR or make any arrests.
