Busted: Clerk suspended for forging directive from CM’s office

Secretariat officials said on Wednesday that a junior clerk had been suspended for forging a notice from chief minister’s office.



They said Ahsan Zahid, a junior clerk at the office of the deputy district education officer (women) in Fort Abbas had been transferred to the Government Boys High School in Fort Abbas following complaints regarding his conduct. Officials said he had forged a directive from the CM’s office ordering the cancellation of the transfer. The Bahawalnagar DCO had forwarded the directive to the CM’s office for verification. Officials said Zahid had been suspended and arrested. They said an inquiry had been initiated against him. Officials said they were trying to ascertain whether this was an isolated incident or the clerk had forged directives from the CM’s office in the past as well.
