Fire in Karachi makeshift houses kills 1, injures 6
Cotton factory in city's SITE area also catches fire

A woman died and at least six were injured when a fire broke out in makeshift houses in Karachi's Gulistan-e-Jauhar neighbourhood, Express News reported on Wednesday.
The fire engulfed the houses located in an empty plot in Block 16, reducing them to ashes.
Soon after the incident, the injured were taken to a hospital for medical treatment. Houses located nearby also caught fire.
The residents of the area complained that the loss could have been less had the fire department responded quickly.
Earlier today, a cotton factory in Karachi’s SITE area also caught fire. Seven fire tenders were used to bring the blaze under control, a fire brigade official confirmed.
Cotton stock stored in the factory was destroyed, while no casualty was reported.
