Fcr clause: Karmaz Khel tribe bears brunt of IED attack
South Waziristan Agency’s political administration on Tuesday launched a crackdown against Karmaz Khel, a sub-tribe of Ahmadzai-Wazir clan, after an improvised explosive device (IED) targeted an FC convoy in Wana a day earlier, said a political administration official.
An FC convoy was targeted by an IED planted along the roadside near Wana Grid Station on Monday.
The area where the incident occurred is inhabited by Karmaz Khel tribesmen, who are now deemed responsible for the attack under the Frontier Crimes Regulation (FCR).
So far, two tribesmen have been arrested and five vehicles impounded in the operation, which has not yet ended, the political administration official added.
“Our movement is restricted due to the fear of arrests. I cannot travel to Tank, DI Khan or any other part of the country. All our routine activities have been disturbed. We have nothing to do with the attack on FC,” Ishaq Khan, a member of the Karmaz Khel tribe, told The Express Tribune.
Domiciles, CNICs and other official paperwork facilities have also been suspended for the tribesmen.
