Alleged negligence: Enquiry report of five children’s death submitted

Statements of parents, nurses, doctors and medical storekeepers were recorded as part of the investigation

An enquiry report about the deaths of five minors after they were allegedly administered wrong injections at District Headquarters Hospital, DI Khan has been submitted to the Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa health department.



According to an official familiar with the matter, five children admitted to the children’s ward of the DHQ Hospital passed away on Sunday and their parents accused the hospital’s staff of administering ‘wrong’ injections.


The official said that following the unexplained deaths, the health department ordered an enquiry into the incident. Statements of parents, nurses, doctors and medical storekeepers were recorded as part of the investigation.


“The report of the enquiry has reached the office of the health department in Peshawar, but it is sealed. Action will be taken against all officials who are found guilty,” he added.
