Crackdown: Food outlets fined for violations

Several teams of the Punjab Food Authority (PFA) on Monday inspected several food outlets in the city to check cleanliness and arrangements to ensure hygiene there. The authority’s teams inspected several premises in Shalimar, Samanabad and Aziz Bhatti Towns and fined several food outlets over poor cleanliness arrangements, the hygiene of employees and absence of licences. Separately, the city government continued its anti-dengue campaign. Several teams checked 47,822 houses and 13,864 other places for dengue larvae. They also surveyed 100 graveyards, 302 junkyards and 313 tyre shops. Teams of the city government also launched a crackdown on encroachments in Nishtar, Aziz Bhatti, Samanabad and Gulberg Towns.
