FAISALABAD: Three people committed suicide on Monday.

A police spokesman said a 17-year-old girl swallowed poison after being told off by her parents.

She was taken to a hospital but died on the way.

Separately, an 18-year-old resident of Jhang Road was taken to a hospital after he was found lying unconscious on a road. He died at the hospital. Doctors said he had had poison in his stomach.

Meanwhile, a resident of Shahbaz Garden also swallowed poison after quarrelling with his family. They said he locked himself in his room for hours before he was found unconscious. He was taken to district headquarters (DHQ) hospital where he died.

Police said the bodies had been handed over to the families for burial after post-mortem examination.
