Hi and bye: Argentine embassy hosts reception for ‘old’ ambassadors and new
And to welcome two new ones to the diplomatic community in Pakistan.
ISLAMABAD:
Dean of the Diplomatic Corps Rodolfo Martin Saravia hosted a dinner reception at the Argentinean embassy to bid farewell to two ambassadors and to welcome two new ones to the diplomatic community in Pakistan.
The reception was held in honour of Greek Ambassador Petros Mavroidis and Austrian Ambassador Axel Wech upon completion of their assignments in Pakistan and to welcome new French Ambassador Martine Dorance and Vietnamese Ambassador Nguyen Xuan Luu, said a press release issued by the Argentinean embassy on Monday.
Senior members of the diplomatic community, government officials and politicians and others attended the reception.
Saravia paid tributes to Mavroidis and Wech while highlighting their commitment to their diplomatic assignments in Pakistan.
“Both ambassadors have always worked to promote friendly relations between Pakistan and their countries.
They also worked to promote good relations among all the countries accredited to Pakistan,” he said.
As a tradition, Saravia also presented a souvenir to both outgoing ambassadors and flowers to the new ambassadors.
He assured the new ambassadors of full cooperation on behalf of the diplomatic corps in Islamabad on their new assignments.
