In memoriam: Police raise awareness on road safety
LAHORE:
The city traffic police organised an awareness walk on Saturday to mark the World Day of Remembrance for Road Traffic Victims. Capital City Police Officer (CCPO) Muhammad Amin Wains and CTO Tayyab Hafeez Cheema led the walk. Scores of schoolchildren and people from all walks of life participated in the event. CCPO Wains said the day was marked world-wide to raise awareness regarding measures taken to prevent road accidents and build public capacity to adhere with traffic discipline. CTO Cheema said the traffic police had prioritised the smooth flow of traffic and raising awareness regarding the importance of taking preventive measure to avoid road accidents. He said the citizens must follow traffic rules and regulations if they wanted Pakistan to become an enlightened nation. CTO Cheema stressed the need for raising awareness in this regard.
