KARACHI:

Bahria Town and Sindh police signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) on Friday regarding provision of around Rs4.5 million relief package to the family of every police official, who dies in the line of duty in Karachi.

The MoU was signed a few days after Bahria Town Chairman Malik Riaz Hussain announced that the real estate group would provide Rs1 million in cash and a 125 square yards plot to the families of each police official, martyred in the metropolis.

In this regard a brief ceremony was held in which Bahria Vice Chief Executive South Zain Malik and Sindh Inspector General Police (IG) Ghulam Ahmed Jamali signed the MoU.

According to the MoU, the cash amount of Rs1 million will be transferred in the widow’s/family’s bank account and they will receive around Rs10,000 to Rs12,000 profit each month. The plots, to be given in Bahria Town Karachi, could be transferred, sold or developed only after the IG’s NOC.
