PM forms committee to address gas woes
The committee shall initiate work immediately and submit its report on urgent basis
ISLAMABAD:
Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has constituted a committee to address the issue of gas shortage faced by Punjab’s textile industry during winters.
The committee – headed by Finance Minister Ishaq Dar – has been tasked to propose mechanisms for sustainable gas supply to the textile industry during the cold weather, to address problem of low pressure of gas for industrial users in the province, and for resolution of any other relevant issue.
The committee shall initiate work immediately and submit its report on urgent basis.
According to the official handout issued on Friday, other members of the committee include Minister of Water and Power Khawaja Muhammad Asif, Minister of Petroleum and Natural Resources Shahid Khaqan Abbasi and Minister of Textile Industry Abbas Khan Afridi.
