France approves release of €300 million for Pakistan’s economic development.
ISLAMABAD:
France has approved the release of €300 million for Pakistan’s economic development.
The amount was pledged by France during the donor conference held in Tokyo in April 2009.
The money is expected to be received by the country next week, according to sources. France was one of the donor countries which cumulatively pledged around $5 billion for the country.
Sources said that countries are releasing their pledges systematically once the money gets approved by their respective governments, although the country has pressured donors to expedite the process in light of floods and deteriorating economic conditions.
