Two gang members and an alleged street criminal were shot dead in separate encounters in the city on Thursday.
The gangsters were killed during an encounter with the Rangers in Moosa Lane, Lyari on Thursday morning. Police officials claimed that the encounter took place when the gangsters resorted to indiscriminate fire on the Rangers who were in the area for a routine patrol. The Rangers fired back in retaliation. The deceased were identified as Abdul Hafeez and Hamza alias Hassan alias American.
On Wednesday night, an alleged street criminal was killed during an encounter with the police in Quaidabad, Shah Latif Town. Police officials said that three suspects were trying to escape after snatching cell phones from students at a computer institute in the area.
