Leighton Meester to launch new album
Gossip Girl star talks about her songwriting mantra, life with husband Adam Brody.
Leighton Meester may have earned her spurs as the fashion arbiter Blair Waldorf from Gossip Girl, but the singer-songwriter is now set to take the music scene by storm with her brand new folk-pop album, reported E! Online.
The album features a number of melancholy tracks and showcases Meester’s pain-inspired style of songwriting. “If you didn’t have pain, then you wouldn’t have a record, movie, book, or anything,” she said. “When I’m writing, I can’t think about how it comes out. I just do what feels right,” she added.
Married to The OC star Adam Brody, Meester admits that the couple has different tastes in terms of music. “I don’t think you have to have the same taste in a friendship or relationship. You have to have the same values,” she commented.
Meester tied the knot with Brody in a hush-hush wedding ceremony in February 2014. Since her special day, the multitalented actor feels her perception towards life has changed dramatically. “My values have shifted greatly in terms of what I find important,” she shared. “It’s my family, my friends and having a personal life. Those are the things that need nurturing.” She has been lauded for songs, such as Good Girls Go Bad and Somebody to Love. Let’s see if her latest album is music to our ears.
