The chief minister will hold a cabinet meeting with the provincial ministers in the office of Deputy Commissioner Tharparkar today.
Also, the chief minister will be visiting the civil hospital of Mithi to meet the drought-affected patients, and give cheques to the affected families.
More than 200 security personnel have been deployed in different areas, including the office of Deputy Commissioner, for the security of the chief minister.
Soon after the meeting, Sindh Information Minister Sharjeel Memon will be holding a press conference at the Circuit House.
The ongoing drought has claimed up to 500 lives in last three years, with the death toll for last 43 days reaching 54.
Dismissing the visit as useless, opposition leader in Sindh Assembly Shehreyar Mehr said the meeting will not be of any benefit. “The media is just building unnecessary hype,” Mehr said.
Earlier on October 28, Shah claimed not a single death of a child has occurred owing to hunger and medical negligence in Tharparkar district, while addressing the Sindh Assembly on Monday. He said that he would tender an apology if his statement was disproved.
