Corps commanders’ conference reviews country's security situation

ISPR says progress made in Zarb-e-Azb, Khyber-I operations were discussed

RAWALPINDI:
Army Chief General Raheel Sharif on Wednesday chaired the 176th corps commanders’ conference held at the General Headquarters, according to Inter Services Public Relations.

The conference was part of a routine monthly meeting.

“Participants of the conference were given detailed briefing on overall security situation in the country with particular reference to progress of the ongoing Operation Zarb-e-Azb and Operation Khyber-I,” the statement added.


“Participants expressed resolve to continue operations till elimination of terrorists and vowed that terrorists will not be allowed to regroup and return to these areas, neither will they be allowed any space across the country.”

The army chief expressed satisfaction over progress made in the operations and gains achieved so far while paying tribute to the courage and sacrifices of the troops.

“COAS directed all concerned that no stone be left unturned to assist TDPs during their stay outside and in their early return to their homes,” ISPR said.

Newly appointed Inter-Services Intelligence chief  Lt Gen Rizwan Akhtar alongside the new corps commanders were present at the meeting.
