Eat healthy: Butchers slam drive against bad meat
The Butchers’ Welfare Society on Tuesday staged a protest demonstration
LAHORE:
The Butchers’ Welfare Society on Tuesday staged a protest demonstration on The Mall against the Punjab Agriculture and Meat Company accusing it of victimising butchers. They said the company had been creating problems for them through a so-called crack down on adulterated and sub-standard meat. “We only deal in meat fit for human consumption and follow health and hygienic related standards,” said Malik Iftikhar Waseem, the association’s president. He demanded that the government establish slaughter houses in all nine towns of the city.
