Expansion project: PIMS to have new medical tower

Minister of State of the Capital Administration and Development Division Barrister Usman Ibrahim on Tuesday shared a plan to build a ‘state-of-the-art’ medical tower at Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (Pims).
According to a press release, the minister said a preliminary analysis has been conducted by the Infrastructure Project Development facility of the Ministry of Finance, on the basis of Project Concept-I (2006) of the project and feasibility study of Pims National Institute of Dentistry (2009). The estimated cost of the project amounts to Rs8.3 billion.
As per the PC-I, the medical tower would have 800 beds including 200 semi-private, 100 private and two VIP rooms. It would also have a medical and a dental school with approximate class size of 100 students including both national and international.
The project would be executed as a public-private partnership, the press release stated.
