Dismissing media reports, Justice (retd) Tariq Pervez Khan on Tuesday said he was not approached by the government or the opposition for the post of Chief Election Commissioner, Express News reported.
In a meeting between Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and Khursheed Shah on November 7, Shah had proposed two names for the post of CEC of which Pervez's name was one.

He said that if he was approached for the position, he will give an answer after careful consideration.
Pervez was sworn in as Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (K-P) caretaker chief minister (CM) following the dissolution of the provincial assembly in March 2013.
