Karachi incident: Two constables die in grenade attack

Two policemen lost their lives and three others were wounded when a police mobile came under attack on MA Jinnah Road. Separately, a policeman was killed and his companion wounded in Gulshan-e-Iqbal late on Monday evening. In a brazen drive-by bomb and shooting attack on the trade and commercial hub of MA Jinnah Road, Head Constable Shamimur Rehman and Constable Mobin were killed, while policeman Faisal Ejaz was wounded when they were on patrol in a mobile. At least two armed assailants riding a motorcycle hurled a hand grenade and some kind of chemical which immediately caught fire gutting the vehicle and causing severe burn injuries to the policemen, District South police chief DIG Khalique Shaikh explained while talking to The Express Tribune. Meanwhile, a police constable was shot dead and another constable was wounded in a targeted attack in Gulshan-e-Iqbal. The deceased was identified as Matiuddin and the injured as Qayyum.
