DCO says Children’s Hospital will be built in three phases

District Coordination Officer (DCO) Noorul Amin Mengal on Friday said the first phase of Children Hospital should be completed by June 2015.
He said construction would be completed in three phases.
He was presiding over a meeting to review the progress made in this regard.
The DCO said the hospital would be completed at a cost of Rs5 billion and would provide state-of-the-art facilities for treatment of children.
He said in the first phase, the outpatient department and the emergency ward would be made functional.
The DCO asked the technical advisory committee to finalise a list of equipment required for the hospital.
He said plans should be drawn up for hiring hospital staff.
He also directed the assistant commissioner to remove encroachments from the construction site. The DCO said 35 kanals would be added for a recreation park for families of patients. He said the pace of construction would be reviewed every week.
Project Coordinator Mukhtar Randhawa, Finance EDO Mahr Ramazan and Buildings XEN Tahir Saeed attended the meeting. Mengal also visited offices of the Revenue Department and reviewed performance of the staff.
He also inspected revenue records. During the visit, the DCO expressed displeasure over poor hygiene conditions and directed staff for ensuring a clean environment in revenue offices. He also suspended one revenue official for delaying submission of reports sought from him.
