The Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) completed its post-Hajj operation on Friday.
The airline carried more than 54,000 pilgrims this year on 110 flights, said a spokesperson for the PIA. It also carried 800 pilgrims from Rangoon, he said.
He said the General Authority of Civil Aviation, King Abdul Aziz International Airport, had awarded the PIA an appreciation certificate for rendering excellent services during Hajj. PIA Chairman Nasser Jaffar has congratulated PIA employees on the successful completion of the 2014 Hajj operation. The teamwork and coordinated efforts led to the achievement, he said.
He said he hoped that PIA employees would continue their work with the same spirit.
The post-Hajj operation had started on October 8.
