FAISALABAD:

The economy cannot survive without growth in industry and trade, stated Regulator Trade Organisations Director General Sajid Hussain while addressing members of the Pakistan Textile Exporters Association (PTEA).

“We will leave no stone unturned to facilitate this growth for the interest of economy,” he said.

Hussain said that despite the fact that his office had been renamed as the Regulator of Trade Organizations, it will continue to facilitate trade and industry and all chambers and associations, and take them on board in policy making.

PTEA Chairman Sohail Pasha said that the body was the biggest trade association of textile exporters in the country.

“PTEA is a symbol of entrepreneurship, hard work, determination, dedication and patriotism, established in 1985 as All Pakistan Cloth Exporters Association by some enterprising exporters who took the initiative to tap the potential of textile exports from this region,” he said.

“With time, the association grew bigger. In 2004, its name was changed to Pakistan Textile Exporters Association to expand the scope of the body.” The membership which was a few at the start has grown over the years with over 200 members currently, he said.

It acts as a forward post for the Pakistani textile exports abroad and its main objective is to aid and stimulate the development of textile industry and exports by removing hurdles in the path of progress.
