The drought has been making headlines more frequently in recent weeks and 470 lives have been lost over the past three years, including over 300 children under the age of 7.
For the third year in a row, rains have refused to fall over Tharparkar and 80 percent of villages in Thar have yet to receive any precipitation this year.
Two more children died today at Mithi's Civil Hospital - one only 12 days old - because of malnutrition.
Pakistan People's Party (PPP) have been under immense scrutiny over the issue. PPP patron-in-chief Bilawal Zardari Bhutto had issued show cause notices to Sindh Chief Minister Qaim Ali Shah and provincial Deputy Secretary General, Manzoor Hussain Wassan over the mishandling of the crisis.
Both were asked to submit a report after the media leaked the findings of a report in relation to the drought which showed irregularities, cases of corruption and embezzlement and negligence by various government departments.
Bilawal Bhutto Zardari is said to be monitoring the Tharparkar crisis personally.

Truthful, telling, but beautiful picture. Thank you, ET.
@ObserverUSA: None as "Zia kay bacha" is in a weak position.
Jiye Bhutto!! 39 kids dead so what? Zinda hai bibi zinda hai. That's all that matters.
But who would issue show cause notice to AAZ for bringing back the money from abroad and spend on the poor victims of Thar?
GA Bhutto. If people are dying in Thar. So what? Right Mr. Bilawal Zardari (Baby Bhutto)
Still thinking of capturing Kashmir? Like charity, bravery begins at home. The need of the hour, as you must know, is to amass moral courage to take the fight against abject poverty right in your own backyard.
@Jibran: You are quite right and then we blame the Hospital and the Doctors.
We have a culture of not going to a hospital, before exhausting all desi quacks, and not until the illness worsens. At that point its already too late. That culture and mindset needs to be changed. Health is something not to be taken for granted.
What about the deaths in Karachi due to malnutrition?
