Gullu Butt challenges prison term in LHC
Court raises objection to plea, says it can fix application for hearing only after objection is removed
LAHORE:
Notorious Model Town vandal Gullu Butt on Thursday submitted an application in Lahore High Court, challenging his prison sentence, Express News reported.
An anti-terrorism court on October 30 had sentenced Shahid Nazeer, better known by his alias Gullu Butt, to 11 years and three months in prison.
Butt's lawyer, in the application, claimed that his client was wrongly sentenced to prison as he was not involved in damaging any property nor in Model Town clashes.
The lawyer further accused police officials of filing cases against Butt with ill intent.
The court raised an objection to the application, saying the lawyer had not submitted verified documents with the plea. The court said it will fix the application for hearing only after the objection is removed.
