Nawaz condemns Israeli attack at al Aqsa mosque

He urged the United Nations to take notice of its brutalities against the Palestinians

ISLAMABAD:
Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif on Wednesday strongly condemned the Israeli attack at al Aqsa mosque, Radio Pakistan reported.

In a statement on Wednesday, Nawaz said Pakistan stands with the people of Palestine and opposes the Israeli atrocities against them.

The PM added that Israel had always violated international laws, and urged the United Nations to take notice of its brutalities against the Palestinians.

Earlier on Wednesday, Israeli police clashed with Palestinians inside Jerusalem's al Aqsa mosque compound after Jewish nationalists announced plans to visit the site despite weeks of soaring tensions.

The compound, which is holy to both Jews and Muslims, is one of the most sensitive sites in the Middle East.

Three people were wounded by rubber bullets and another 15 people, who sustained light injuries, had been treated at the scene.
