LAHORE: One person was killed while 17 others sustained injuries in a road accident near Lahore, Express News reported on Wednesday.

A coaster en route to Lahore from Changa Manga toppled when it swerved to save a cyclist. The vehicle fell into a stream and was stuck there for around two hours.

Members of Rescue 1122 arrived at the scene and removed passengers from the vehicle. Many are still stuck inside the bus as rescue workers struggle to take them out.

The deceased was identified as a 17-year old boy. The injured were shifted to Jinnah Hospital for treatment, however, their exact condition is not known.

With a seating capacity of only 21 to 22 persons, the bus was, however, carrying around 40 passengers.

The driver of the bus is currently missing and has not been identified, while the police took the conductor in custody.
