Traffic plan: Pillion riding banned
1,150 traffic wardens, inspectors and DSPs would be deployed to regulate traffic and parking along procession routes

The Rawalpindi City Traffic Police have banned pillion riding in the city on Ashura.
As part of the security plan, the Benazir Bhutto Road, DAV College Road, and Iqbal Road will be closed for traffic. Saddar-bound traffic would be diverted to City Saddar Road and traffic from Novelty Cinema will reach Pirwadhai through Kashmiri bazaar. Traffic coming from Gunjmandi would be diverted to TB Hospital, Pirwadhai and Dhoke Dalal. Peshawar Road will be closed on Wednesday, and traffic diverted to IJP Road.

City Traffic Officer Shoaib Khurram Janbaz has warned violators of strict action, saying police would arrest them and impound their bikes.
A total of 1,150 traffic wardens, inspectors and DSPs would be deployed to regulate traffic and parking along procession routes. Besides, 125 traffic police officials who were called in from other districts to assist in managing traffic during the construction of metro bus project will also perform duties along procession routes.
