‘Exorcist’ : Man arrested for killing woman

FAISALABAD: A man was arrested on Saturday for killing a woman in an attempted exorcism. D-Type Colony police told newsmen that 27-year-old Zeenat Bibi, wife of Ghulam Muhammad, fell ill three months ago. They said her family took her to Muhammad Afzal Jatt, who told them that the girl had been possessed by a demon. Jatt beat Zeenat Bibi up and tortured her during her ‘treatment.’ She died on Wednesday after another ‘treatment session’. Police said her relatives had protested on Thursday, seeking Jatt’s arrest. They said he fled from his house on their protest.
