Collaboration: TEVTA to train hundreds from three southern districts
An MoU was signed by TEVTA and NRSP in this regard.

Technical Education and Vocational Training Authority (TEVTA) officials said on Saturday that the authority would train 450 students from Muzaffargarh, Layyah and Rajanpur in collaboration with the National Rural Support Programme (NRSP).
They said the students would be trained in 20 months in three-month courses. A memorandum of understanding (MoU) was signed between the authority and the NRSP in this regard on Friday at the Tevta Secretariat. Tevta Chairperson Irfan Qaiser Sheikh and NRSP Director Iqbal Ahmad Raja signed the agreement.
Tevta Chief Operating Officer Jawad Ahmed Qureshi and several other officials were also present on the occasion.
Officials said the initiative had been taken following a directive by Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif to train youth from rural areas according to industrial needs. They said the NSPR would improve the training curriculum and the quality of instruction.
Officials said facilities at select Tevta centres would also be upgraded under the agreement.
They said a Rs100 stipend would be given to students daily to cover their transportation and food expenses. Officials said the Tevta would provide infrastructure needed to facilitate the courses. He said the courses would be conducted by experts.
