The DI Khan-Wana Road remained blocked for six hours on Saturday when the residents of Tank district protested in Kur area against the irrigation water distribution plan of Gomal Zam Dam.
The demonstrators were led by elders Malik Dilbar Khan Mehsud, Malik Ayub Bittani and Malik Rehmatullah who accused two MPAs from Kulachi of using their influence to divert water from the dam to Kulachi at the cost of Gomal’s farms.

The DI Khan-Wana Road remained blocked for six hours on Saturday when the residents of Tank district protested in Kur area against the irrigation water distribution plan of Gomal Zam Dam.
Hundreds of people from Sheikh Owthar, Sheikh Sultan, Gomal, Sarong Zona, Kot Hakim and Murtaza areas gathered at Kur and blocked the major thoroughfare in protest. The demonstrators claimed that water from the dam which is located in South Waziristan is being distributed to Kulachi, DI Khan instead of Gomal Valley which has the right to it.
