LAHORE:

Additional District and Sessions Judge Yasir Nadeem Razzaq on Friday adjourned the hearing of a defamation suit against Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) chief Imran Khan to December 3.

Najam Sethi, the petitioner, had filed the suit against Khan for levelling false allegations against him. Usman G Rashid, the counsel for the petitioner, said Khan had publicly accused Sethi of rigging the 2013 elections. He said Khan had not responded to a notice that Sethi had served on him.  Rashid said it had become imperative to file the suit against him after six months as he had been continuously maligning Sethi. The counsel also produced various newspaper clippings before the court regarding this. He said Sethi was a noted journalist with impeccable credentials. Rashid said Khan had a habit of hurling accusations at those he disliked. The counsel said he had denigrated former Chief Justice of Pakistan Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry, Justice (r) Khalilur Rehman Ramday, and Justice (r) Riaz Kayani.

Judge Razzaq adjourned the hearing after directing the petitioner to produce evidence to support his arguments.

What "evidence"? IK has to prove his accusations. Sethi needs to provide all the accusations that is it. However, unlike NaInsafians I undrstand we don't have banana courts and proper procedure must be followed.
