Computerised arms licences issued
3 different methods of verifying the licence: through the website, smart phones and on-the-spot verification via SMS
PESHAWAR:
The first batch of computerised arms licences were issued to applicants in Peshawar district.
A statement issued from the Home and Tribal Affairs department on Friday mentioned arms licences were issued to both private citizens and government employees. The handout said documentation was issued after verification by the National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA). “A limited number of [national] computerised licences were also validated,” the statement read.
It explained the three different methods of verifying the licence: through the website, smart phones and on-the-spot verification via text message to a designated number of the home department, printed on the card. According to the handout, after this successful launch, the same project will be extended to the rest of K-P’s districts.
