LAHORE: Notorious Model Town vandal Gullu Butt will most likely be washing dishes in Lahore’s Camp Jail, according to a detailed verdict issued by a court, Express News reported on Friday.

An anti-terrorism court on October 30 sentenced Shahid Nazeer, better known by his alias Gullu Butt, to 11 years and three months in prison.

The vandal was charged with damaging vehicles and property during Model Town clashes on June 17 when supporters of Pakistan Awami Tehreek and police clashed.

In a detailed verdict issued today, the court said Butt will work as a kitchen labourer during his time in prison.

Butt’s lawyer had said his client will appeal the verdict.

11 years for vandalism and breaking glass seems disproportionate to the crime. The trial of a common thug accused of loutishness by an "Anti Terrorism" courts looks inappropriate. Lack of transparent universal application of law under due process is our real problem of which judiciary is a big component.
