Turkmenistan authorities issue notice to PIA for nonpayment of dues
Turkmenistan asks national carrier to pay dues related to using its airspace for international flights by November 3
KARACHI:
Turkmenistan authorities on Friday issued a notice to Pakistan International Airlines over nonpayment of fees related to using the country’s airspace for international flights, Express News reported.
The national carrier uses Turkmenistan’s airspace for flights to Europe and Canada.
Aviation authorities of Turkmenistan have asked PIA to pay the dues by November 3.
Earlier in April this year, the Saudi General Authority of Civil Aviation had sent a similar notification to PIA regarding nonpayment of dues worth millions of rupees.
PIA has been suffering losses worth billions since many years and its accumulated dues have been on the rise.
