Corruption charges: Case registered against 11 Irrigation Dept employees

The case was lodged on the request of Anti-Corruption Department director

A case was registered against 11 employees of the Irrigation Department on Thursday over corruption charges.


The case was lodged on the request of Anti-Corruption Department director after an inquiry against the officers was completed.


The inquiry was launched on a complaint filed against the Irrigation department staff by a citizen, Shafiq.

He had stated in his complaint that Irrigation Department employees, including former operations chief engineer Chaudhry Shafiq, Chief Engineer Nazir Ahmad, Executive Engineer Hafiz Muhammad Naeem, had embezzled public funds in the construction of a civil station.

The Anti-Corruption Department formed a team to investigate the charges and found the charges leveled against the officials to be true.
